Team 7-3 Galileo Expectations and Policies
1) Why are you here? To learn! Be in the present and focus on the task in front of you. Just do your best.
2) Be organized. If you always need to go to your locker or ask for something, you probably aren’t ready to learn. The train leaves with or without you, so hop on.
3) Be classy. Your character shows through in the way you act. Would you do or say what you are thinking if a teacher, Mrs. Adams or your parents were standing next to you? Your reputation follows you throughout life, and it starts at Nagel.
Celebrations/ Rewards
Students will be rewarded for having good behavior and 100% homework completion twice a quarter, at interim and report card time. Rewards include gym time and/or a food celebration.
Discipline Plan
Step 1: warning
Step 2: phone call home
Step 3: morning detention at 6:45am to 7:15am
Step 4: student/parent/team meeting
(subject to change based on the severity of the incident)
Excused Absences
Students are given 2 days for every day absent to make up work. Each teacher has a place in their room to turn in makeup work.
Late work
Assignments are due the day they are due. Partial credit will be given if the assignment is turned in by Friday of that week. The following week it will be zero credit. Each teacher has a place in their room to turn in late work.
Planners
Students are to write their homework in their planners daily. Each teacher has the homework written on their board. Students also need their planner for hall/restroom passes. They are to bring their planner to every class and keep it clean.
Lockers
Student are strongly encouraged to keep their locker combination a secret and only use their locker before advisory, before the 3rd class, before encores and before going home.
Working Lunch
This program is an effort to allow parents and teachers to work together in order to maximize academic performance for all students. If a student misses an assignment or turns in an assignment of poor quality in a core class they will stay in during lunch and work on that assignment. Students will either pack lunch or have front of the line access to buy lunch. Students who do not attend an assigned working lunch will receive one warning, after that a missed working lunch will result in an office referral.
Grading Scale
90%-100% A, 80%-89% B, 70%-79% C, 65%-69% D, below 65% F
