Spanish

Dear Students and Families,
¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español I! Welcome to Spanish class! My name is Señora (Mrs.) Blanton. This is my sixth year teaching Spanish at Nagel Middle School. I have a BS in Spanish Education and a BA in Spanish from Ohio University, and recently earned my Masters of Arts in Education degree from Northern Kentucky University. I got married three years ago, so you might not recognize my new name- I was formerly Señorita (Miss) Metti. I am looking forward to working with you and making this a busy, productive, and academically rewarding year. We will work together to cultivate self-discipline and academic excellence, two important attributes of a high school student.
Resumen de la Clase - Course Overview
La clase de español I is an exciting course in which students receive high school credit. At times, the coursework may seem challenging, but with persistence and effort, you will do well. Our goals for the year include exposure to and acquisition of Spanish, exploration of Spanish and Hispanic cultures, and promotion of cultural awareness and acceptance. Please understand that learning a new language takes numerous hours of practice, patience, and dedication. You will not be fluent by the end of the year; instead, you will have a solid foundation on which to build your Spanish.
